Waitress gets $1000 for a tip

CHICAGO Michelle Secreto has been working at the Montarra Grill in Algonquin for three years. Last Sunday, a couple was seated at her station and asked Secreto her recommendation for a gluten-free meal. She told them to try two seafood specials.

When the customers paid the check with a credit card, Secreto was stunned to see the tip was for $1,000.

"It was amazing. It was kind of surreal. It took me awhile to realize, of course, all these things. What if it bounces? This can't be true. Something's gotta be, you know,it's a joke," Secreto said.

Secreto says she plans to use the money to send her 12-year-old daughter on an upcoming school trip to Washington, DC.
