At the time, Katinas was a priest at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in suburban Olympia Fields.
The lawyers say Katinas abused other boys and church leaders knew about the abuse but concealed it. They say Katinas was transferred to a church in Dallas, where he faces several other sex abuse suits.
"This is a case of the Archdiocese of the Greek Orthodox Church discovering, hiding and concealing to cover their own reputation at the risk of the children," said Jeff Anderson, plaintiff's sttorney.
The attorneys say Katinas has fled the country and is in Greece.
