The Will County coroner was called to the scene.
The fire was described by officials as fast-moving and the home was engulfed in flames. A local building inspector was in the neighborhood and reported seeing flames shooting out of the 2 1/2 story house.
Neighbors report a couple reside at the home.
Fire officials said the house was destroyed in the blaze. They did not release the identity of the body.
