The Emil and Patricia A. Jones Convention Center, 9501 S. King Drive, has been open for more than a year, but this was the first time all the invited dignitaries, including Governor Blagojevich, could get together for an official ceremony. Emil Jones is the president of Illinois Senate. It's named for him and his late wife, Patricia.
