Researchers have long looked at the link between snoring and intelligence. Now there is new food for thought. Scientists found that about two-thirds of children with snoring or sleep apnea problems had some degree of cognitive deficit.

The new study finds that it's difficult to connect the severity of the cognitive deficit to the severity of the snoring or sleep apnea because other issues may be involved.

The research is in the latest issue of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
