Funeral arraignments have been finalized for a Chicago police detective who died Tuesday, seven years after being wounded in the line of duty. Fifty-three-year-old Joseph Airhart Jr. was shot in the head by bank robbery suspect Daniel Salley in 2001. Salley then held Airhart hostage in a downtown apartment building for two hours.

Salley is now serving life in prison, plus 132 years. A wake will be held for Detective Airhart Sunday from 3 to 9 p.m. at Cage Funeral Home at 7651 South Jeffrey in Chicago.

His funeral is set for Monday at 11 a.m. at Rockefeller Memorial Chapel at 5850 South Woodlawn Avenue, Chicago.
