3 killed in car crashes in Chicago

The accident happened around 4:15 a.m. at the intersection of 87th Street and Michigan Avenue.

Police say a car struck a pole and pinned in two occupants of the vehicle. Both victims were killed in the crash.

The Chicago Fire Department was called to the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Another crash on Chicago's Southwest Side claimed the life of one person Sunday, while two others were hospitalized in critical condition.

That accident happened at approximately 3:30 a.m. at 111th Street and Western Avenue.

A preliminary investigation shows several vehicles were involved in the crash. Authorities are looking into the cause of the accident.
