Exercise can reduce diabetes risk

Rigorous exercise can substantially reduce the risk of diabetes. Scientists in Scotland found that short but intense exercise every day or two can substantially improve the body's ability to process sugars, as well as boost metabolism.

Sixteen young, healthy volunteers were studied. Dramatic improvement was recorded in just two weeks.

The findings are published in the journal BMC Endocrine Disorders.
