February 5, 2009 He hosted popular late-night shows, first on WIND-AM in the '70s and then on WGN Radio. Schwartz was known for his annual food drives and for helping solve the problems of listeners who called in at night.

The Southwest Side native battled kidney and heart problems for the past decade. Schwartz was 62-years-old.
