Federal prosecutors investigating former governor Rod Blagojevich have interviewed Tribune Company chairman Sam Zell.In addition to allegedly trying to sell the U.S. Senate seat, the feds claim Blagojevich tried to influence the Tribune editorial board by affecting the state financing for the sale of Wrigley Field.

It's unclear what Aell may have told investigators. But the paper says a federal subpoena sought information about potential staff cuts or changes to the editorial board.

Zell has hired defense lawyer and former U.S. attorney Anton Valukas.
