Truck crashes through cemetery, 1 dead

March 16, (FOREST PARK, Ill.) The 36-year-old pickup truck driver is dead after his vehicle crashed at Free Sons of Israel Cemetery Roosevelt Road and Des Plaines Avenue. There is no word on what caused the crash.

The crash caused a traffic shutdown on Des Plaines Road just after 6:30 a.m. Monday.

Apparently, the pickup truck was traveling northbound on Des Plaines, lost control, went through the chain-link fence, dislodging a piece of the fence, and landed on top of several graves, knocking down and plowing into a tombstone in the end. The pickup landed on its side.
