Yneekah Garcia, 33, of 8840 S. Indiana Ave., was pronounced dead at the scene at 8 a.m., according to a Cook County Medical Examiner's office spokesman, who said Garcia was apparently crushed by the garage door at her home.
Police responded to the woman's home about 6:30 a.m., according to police News Affairs Officer JoAnn Taylor, who said Calumet Area detectives are conducting a death investigation.
