Conservative UW-Madison group wants funds restored

June 29, 2009 (MADISON, Wis.) Collegians for a Constructive Tomorrow believes environmental issues are better handled by the free market, not by government interference.

It says that's why the university eliminated its funding, which ranged from $130,000 to $200,000 per year recently.

State Sen. Glenn Grothman is expected Monday to ask Chancellor Biddy Martin to reverse her previous decision and reinstate funding.

The chancellor has said funding was denied because CFACT mishandled administrative issues. She says its social positions were irrelevant.

CFACT is threatening to sue if funding isn't restored.
