Dancing the night away is now illegal in Iowa's largest city.
But that's likely to change.
The Des Moines City Council has given preliminary approval to a measure that OK's public dancing in the city after 2 a.m.
A final decision won't come until mid-August.
The ordinance dates back to at least 1942 and bans public all-night dancing.
