Jet skiers pulled to shore

August 18, 2009 (CHICAGO) No one was injured. The man, his teenaged son and two of his teenaged son's friends said they never felt like they were in danger because the waters were calm.

The four became stranded after a rope they were using to pull an inner tube got caught up in a jet ski and killed its power. They were not able to get it started so they called 911.

A police boat was sent out, but, according to the man, they would charge $500 to pull the jet ski back to shore. Instead, the police boat found another jet skier who offered assistance.

The group was stranded a mile from Diversey Harbor for about 30 minutes.
