Jury rules exonerated inmate wasn't framed

August 21, 2009 Gauger sat on death row for the 1993 murders of his parents. Ultimately, Gauger was released from prison and the charges against him were dismissed. He received a full pardon in 2002.

Gauger was suing the detectives and the McHenry County Sheriff's Department for $20 million, alleging they falsely reported that he confessed to the murders.

The jurors declined to comment on their decision.

Gauger also declined to comment, but his lawyers say they will appeal.
