Sales of boxers and briefs may be a sign that the recession is ending. Some retailers report that more men are purchasing underwear.

Economists suggest that's an indication that the economy is rebounding.

The theory is that when men start to buy underwear, they have more money to burn.

Market analysts say overall consumer spending went up .2 percent in July.
