The city of Chicago says talk show host Oprah Winfrey has reimbursed taxpayers more than 54 thousand dollars for her September 8th television taping on Michigan Avenue.Five city departments submitted bills to Harpo studios for services needed for the broadcast event that shut down Michigan Avenue between Wacker and Ohio.

The staging of the show - which was Oprah's 24th season premier - caused traffic to be re-routed for more than 2 days.

The city received the reimbursement checks Friday.
