H1N1 vaccination effort begins

October 4, 2009 (CHICAGO) The effort is being called the most aggressive influenza vaccination program in American history. This week alone, 600,000 tubes of vaccine nasal spray and up to 7 million injectable vaccines will be shipped. Eventually, there will be 250 million doses available

Vaccination priority will be given to pregnant women, health care workers, young people between six months and 24 years old, and people with chronic health conditions.

Twenty-seven states have already reported flu activity.
