Timing is everything and it turns out a timing error is at fault for the disqualification of 56 runners who competed in the Chicago Marathon.Apparently, there was a problem with the electronic chip timing system at the 15-kilometer mark.

Marathon organizers said they would reinstate anyone who was disqualified as a result of the technical glitch.

The marathon has a policy of reviewing all disputes over disqualifications before publishing its final results in a book.
