School monitoring students, disinfecting building

October 13, 2009 (SCHAUMBURG, Ill.) The students attend St. Peter Lutheran School, which is open for class Tuesday. Their ages and conditions are not known.

School officials have confirmed the cases and say they've exercised precautions to disinfect hard surfaces throughout the building.

"We'll keep following through if we need to close the building down or what, what kind of danger there is. Right now we don't feel there's a danger to our kids," said Principal Roger Kirsch, St. Peter Lutheran School.

"I have three boys at the school. It was kind of nice that the school called us last night and let us know what was going on at the school," said Brent Veltkame, parent.

Children are being encouraged to cover their noses and mouths when sneezing or coughing. They're also being encouraged to wash their hands often.
