Public hearing on Northerly Island

The public will have a chance to talk about the future of Northerly Island now that it won't be used for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.Northerly Island was slated to be a home for Olympic venues including beach volleyball and the canoe and kayak slalom courses- but Chicago lost the Olympic bid last month.

The Chicago Park District will unveil a series of sketches for the site and take ideas from the public.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Spertus Institute on Michigan Avenue
