Study: Texting could cause shoulder damage

November 13, 2009 Men are more likely than women to suffer injuries from texting, according to researchers at Temple University in Philadelphia. The researchers contend that too much time spent texting may cause shoulder damage.

A study of 138 college students found a connection between high numbers of text messages and shoulder discomfort.

More research is needed, but scientists suggest it may be a good idea to study people who spend a lot of time using hand-held devices.
