Smoking banned at Cook Co. health facilities

November 19, 2009 (CHICAGO) Thursday is the day that smokers officially became unwelcome.

Workers painted over no smoking signs on sidewalks at Stroger Hospital.

The signs are meant to show smokers that they could light up beyond a certain point. But it's now forbidden on all county health property.

The new policy is designed to protect hospital workers from second hand smoke.
