Governor creates Human Services Commission

November 22, 2009 (CHICAGO) It happened at Apostolic Church of God on South Dorchester.

The commission will make recommendations to the governor and state lawmakers on how to provide high-quality human services to the people of Illinois.

This summer, it seemed Human Services might be cut as Quinn and state lawmakers hammered out a budget.

" It did sort of tell me, and I think everyone involved, that we need to come together and make it clear that Human Services are the heart and soul of who we are in Illinois," Quinn said.

The pastor of Apostolic Church of God, Dr. Byron Brazier will be a member of the commission.
