Authorities were called to the apartment on the 5100-block of West Agatite by a relative concerned for the children's well being. Police describe the apartment as filthy and without any food.
The children , ages 4, 2, and 7 months, are now in the custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
No charges had been filed Saturday evening.
