The eight-day festival of lights began at sundown Friday.
In the afternoon, leaders of the Jewish United fund of Chicago lit two menorahs. One is a traditional oil menorah. The other is an electric menorah featuring energy-efficient lights, representing the the fund's commitment to caring for the world.
