Reports: Google to offer smart phone

December 14, 2009 There are several reports that the Internet search giant is testing a new mobile device called "Nexus One." It runs on Google's android operating system.

The phone has a touch screen like the iPhone as well as a voice activated feature for searching the Web.

Reports say Google plans to sell the phone at a reduced price to consumers who agree to a service contract with T-Mobile. Google will also sell the phone through its Web site. Those buyers would then purchase service separately.
