8-year-old's body recovered from river

January 5, 2010 (BURLINGTON, Wis.) The boy's body was found Tuesday morning around 10 by crews from the Racine County Sheriff's Department.

The 8-year-old walked out onto the icy Fox River on Monday afternoon. Neighbors saw him fall in and tried to rescue him, but were unable to do so.

Authorities from Racine County searched with a helicopter Monday night, but there was no sign of the child. The search became a recovery effort on Tuesday.
