Protestors argue the cuts are a product of what they call an unfair funding formula in Illinois.
"When you consider the fact that there's a million people a day at least riding it that says 190,000 people a day are gonna be stranded. That means the remaining people will wait longer and sit in overcrowded buses. It's unfair," said one marcher.
Inside CTA headquarters the transit authority board held a meeting to address the cuts. The CTA also reported ridership was down by 1 percent last year.
