Do you keep track of your child's vaccinations? Experts say you should.

Leaving it up to your doctor may not be the best idea.

When parents keep a so-called "shot card" their child's odds of being up to date on vaccinations rose by more than half.

A new study at the University of South Carolina also found that shot cards were particularly effective when mothers had little education, many children and when a child had multiple health care providers.
