Suspect arrested in alleged garage burglary

Chicago police have arrested a burglary suspect accused of stealing hand tools and electronics from a garage.

Raymond Reyes, Jr., 40, of the 3700-block of South Hermitage, was charged with one count of felony residential burglary.

According to police, Reyes was picked up in the 6100-black of South Springfield after police linked him to a burglary in the 3700-block of West 60th. Reyes was allegedly carrying a partially open backpack with an orange belt sander sticking out of it. He was positively identified by the victim and a witness and was later charged.

All of the stolen items were returned to the victim, police said.

Reyes is scheduled to appear in bond court on Monday.
