So far 40 people have applied to be Illinois' next lieutenant governor.

Some of the hopeful candidates include Patrick Arbor, the former chairman of the Chicago Board of Trade, and Bob Arya, a TV reporter-turned-advisor to former Governor Rod Blagojevich.

Tuesday was the first day the Democratic Party starting listing applicants.

The contenders will be reviewed by the Democratic state central committee which will make the final decision on Governor Quinn's November running mate.
