March 22, 2010 (HAMMOND, Ind.)

Robert Shannon faces up to 16 years in prison for allegedly hitting the worker on Interstate 80/94 last Tuesday.

Indiana State Police say Shannon was speeding through a construction zone when he struck Christopher Jenkins of Valparaiso. Police say Shannon ran away from the crash scene but was taken into custody last Tuesday night.

He is being held on a $60,000 bond and will appear in court again on May 10.
