Too much TV for toddlers may affect success in school

May 3, 2010

Toddlers watch an average of nine hours of TV a week. But according to a new study, each additional hour per week corresponded to problems when the children reached fourth grade. That includes lower math scores and less classroom engagement.

The children were also more likely to get bullied by classmates, engage in less physical activity and had an increased body mass.

This study is published in the Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine.
