James Larry is accused of killing five members of his family last month, including three children.
He was initially charged with four counts of murder. The fifth charge was added after his mother, Leona Larry, died last Saturday from injuries she suffered in the shooting.
Police say James Larry made a videotaped statement admitting he committed the crimes.
