May 24, 2010 (ANTIOCH, Ill.) A jet ski collided with a 27-foot motorboat on the north end of Lake Marie.
The jet skier was killed. Lake County Sheriff Lt. John Crilly says the accident Sunday evening left the man with head trauma and injuries to his left leg and arm.
Other boaters nearby rushed to bring the man to shore.
No one on the boat was hurt.
The Lake County Sheriff's Department is investigating the accident.
Police talked to the 69-year-old man who was operating the boat involved, but no citations have been issued.
Officials say the area's lakes and waterways were especially crowded due to the weekend's warm weather.
