Story Corps collects Americans' histories

May 24, 2010 (CHICAGO)

Congressman Luis Gutierrez was interviewed by his daughter for Story Corps. Its goal is to get Americans to share their histories so they can be preserved.

So far 50,000 people have been interviewed. Their stories are kept at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.

For those interested in participating, the Story Corps van will be at Pilsen's National Museum of Mexican Art for the next six weeks.
