Friends announce benefit for bat attack victim

June 8, 2010 (CHICAGO)

McShane and her friend Stacy Jurich were attacked and beaten with a baseball bat in late April. Both women were in critical condition. Jurich has been released from the hospital but McShane remains in serious condition.

"Natasha is doing okay. She has a long road ahead of her. She's been through an unbearable ordeal," said Paddy Homan, Natasha McShane Fund Raising Committee.

Heriberto Viramontes and his girlfriend Marcy Cruz have been charged.

There will be two benefits on Sunday. One at the Irish-American Heritage Center in Chicago and the other at the Chicago Gaelic Park in Oak Forest.
