FEMA denies aid request after Ill. tornadoes

July 6, 2010 (CHICAGO) The twisters caused significant damage in both Dwight and Streator last month.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) had been asked for disaster aid. Dwight's village administrator says the request was denied last week.

Most of the wreckage has been cleaned up and repair work is under way. The state has asked the Small Business Administration to help with low interest loans.
