Chicago police are investigating a pair of deadly shootings -- one on the city's South Side, the other on the West Side. In the Lawndale neighborhood, a gunman opened fire on a car with a couple inside it. It was just before midnight late Wednesday near Cermak and Kildare.

The shooting left a man dead. Police have not yet released his identity. A woman was critically wounded. Police suspect the shooting may be gang related. No one is in custody.

And in the Bronzeville neighborhood, an 18-year-old man was found fatally shot in bushes along the 700-block of East Pershing just after midnight Thursday.

The gunfire apparently shattered the glass at a nearby CTA bus shelter.
