"The City of Blue Island and its elected officials would like to offer our deepest condolences to the Salgado family on the loss of Carlos," said Blue Island Mayor Donald Peloquin.
Peloquin read a statement to Carlos Salgado's loved ones at a city hall meeting.
The 26-year old died at a party at Memorial Park.
According to a police report, there was drinking and nudity at the party but no foul play.
Salgado's family has filed a wrongful death suit against Park District President Fred Bilotto and the City of Blue Island.
Some of Salgado's friends came to Tuesday night's meeting looking for more information about his death.
"We're just really upset about the whole thing," said Salgado family friend Yolanda Arellano. "I mean, we want answers and nobody is -- they're not saying anything."
Mayor Peloquin says he wants the City of Blue Island removed from the lawsuit because Salgado died on park district property.
Police say no criminal charges will be filed in Salgado's death.
