July 23, 2010 (CHICAGO)

Obama will first travel to Chrysler and General Motors plants in Michigan, visits that are scheduled to take place next Friday.

On the following Thursday, President Obama will tour the Torrence Avenue Ford plant to talk with workers about the auto industry and investing in energy-efficient vehicles.

Ford recently announced plans to add 1,200 new jobs at that plant.

Later Thursday night, the president will headline a fundraiser for Democratic Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias.
