Gov. Pat Quinn named members to his new Illinois Anti-violence Commission Sunday. It is a grassroots effort, and all of the members have lost relatives to violence.
"The whole idea of this commission is to make sure that the people of Illinois hear loud and clear the voices of special men and women of Illinois who understand this issue far better than me or anyone else. They understand what violence can do to a family," Quinn said.
Pamela Montgomery-Bosley is among the panelists. Her 18-year-old son, Terrell, was shot and killed while leaving church in 2006.
Quinn says members will try to find new solutions to prevent others from losing loved ones to violent crime.
