Quinn promotes small-business tax credit

He talked about it during a visit to a kitchen design company in Chicago.

Illinois businesses with fewer than 50 employees may be eligible for a $2,500 tax credit.

The governor explained why he believes this credit is so important to small businesses.

"They're the ones that are the job creators in any state's economy. They really have a good record of adding a person here, a person there. The next thing you know we have a recovery going at full speed," Quinn said.

Quinn says there are about 500,000 small businesses across Illinois.
