First-time voters are not the only ones who need to register.
Those who have new addresses or name changes also face the October 5th deadline.
Registration can be done at several locations, including secretary of state drivers' facilities and board of election offices.
An eligible voter must be a U.S. citizen who is at least 18 years old by Election Day.
