No cuts, hikes or layoffs for CTA

September 29, 2010 (CHICAGO)

The CTA presented its $1.3 billion budget for 2011 on Wednesday.

The proposal comes about seven months after the CTA laid off about a thousand workers and cut bus and rail service to balance its budget.

CTA President Richard Rodriguez says the agency is dipping into construction funds, which means they may forgo renovating some stations.

The public can comment on the 2011 budget at a hearing on October 26th at CTA headquarters.
