The plan requires automakers to produce vehicles with fuel-efficiency ratings between 47 and 62 miles per gallon by the year 2025. That's a jump from a new standard imposed last year which one requires automakers to make vehicles with fuel efficiency ratings of 35.5 miles per gallon by 2016.
