Schools CEO Ron Huberman joined Mayor Daley at Ravenswood Elementary School to make the announcement Tuesday.
Most of the money comes from the federal Teacher Incentive Fund, which offers additional pay for high-performing teachers. It will support a five-year effort involving more than 1,000 teachers at some 25 Chicago schools with low-income students.
