A public viewing began at 9 a.m. and was expected to continue until 6 p.m. at West Point Missionary Baptist Church on Chicago's South Side.
A musical tribute was scheduled as well for Thursday night at Apostolic Church of God.
Walker's funeral was set for Friday at West Point Missionary Baptist Church.
